Cultural weddings evoke many things for the human senses – the intoxicating music and rhythm, the aroma of traditional food and spices, the kaleidoscope of colours from the dresses throughout the day, to the language and sounds from our surroundings. The traditional Afghan wedding of Ali and Atiqa was a celebration of colours, an expression of music and dance, and a union between 2 large families. Red was the colour of the day, and we loved it.
