Strangely enough, this was my first time shooting a wedding in Canberra, in 18 years of shooting weddings!

There is definitely an allure about Australia’s capital city. The lush green expanses and parks and forests, ringed by snowy mountains in the distance, create a sense of alpine beauty, especially in winter. I found myself for a night to capture this incredibly fun wedding for Rhys and Rhiannon and their lovely and helpful bridal party.

From quiet, intimate moments inside a forest, to the windswept vista at the National Aboretum, I began to really appreciate the natural beauty and the man-made layouts of Canberra. It exceeded my expectations as a wedding photographer.

Would I do it again there? Absolutely, beautiful and photogenic city, and ease of access with the airport less than 10 mins from the CBD. What’s not to love about quick fly-in, fly-out jobs!
